Geraldine V. Rowan, 63, of Mabie, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at her home.
She was born Dec. 21, 1938, in Lexington, Va., a daughter of the late Clarence Knick and Della Graves Knick, who survives in Elkins.
Also surviving are two sons, James E. Rowan, Charleston, and John C. Rowan, Elkins; one brother, Kenneth Knick, Dailey; and one sister, Diane Corley, Elkins. Two grandsons, Kane James Rowan and Logan Dellis Rowan, and a niece, Terri Weiford, also survive.
Mrs. Rowan was a homemaker and was a popular babysitter in the Mabie area. The children of the area knew her as “Grandma Dean.”
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the funeral home chapel with evangelist Gary L. Kendall Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Lower Rowan Cemetery near Mabie.
