Glen G. Hannah 1927-2003 Obituary
Glen G. Hannah, 76, a resident of Route 1, Beverly, the East Dailey community, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003, at his home.
He was born June 27, 1927, at Beverly, a son of the late Roy William and Lena Riggleman Hannah.
On April 9, 1950, at the First United Methodist Church in Elkins, he was married to Eula Kenney Hannah, who survives at East Dailey.
Also surviving are two sons, Gary Glen Hannah of Beverly, and Ronald Neil Hannah and wife, Crystal Dawn, of Beverly; a daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Debra Jo) Butcher of Beverly; and four grandchildren, Matthew Alan Morgan Butcher, Andrew Wade Wilson Butcher, Elizabeth Hannah Jo Butcher and Kyle Roy Brison Hannah.
Mr. Hannah was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by three brothers, John L. Hannah, Frank W. Hannah and Ray A. Hannah.
Mr. Hannah attended the schools of Randolph County. He was a past member of the Dailey Ruritan Club and the Upper Valley Ruritan Club. He was a member of Mountaineer Chapter Izaak Walton League and the Randolph County Senior Center and attended the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He was employed as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for the West Virginia Department of Highways. After his retirement in 1989, he worked part-time for Reckart Equipment Co. for 11 years and was employed part-time by the Tygart Valley Sanitation Company at Dailey at the time of his illness and death.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Donald L. Fitzwater officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 164, Beverly, W.Va. 26253 in memory of Mr. Hannah. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Glen G. Hannah.
