OBITUARY: GOLDIA MARIE WILSON Goldia Marie Wilson, 90, of Rt. #2, Philippi, died Saturday morning, May 1, in Mansfield Place, Philippi, where she had been a resident for the past 10 years. She was born August 25, 1919, at St. George, Tucker County, a daughter of the late Clarence James and Sarah Catherine (Poling) Auvil. On October 19, 1940, she was married to Junior Elliott Wilson, who preceded her in death on April 4, 1967. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Helen Mouser, Mrs. David (Kathy) Hoffman and Mrs. Larry (Dorcas) Moore, all of Philippi; two sons, Gale E. Wilson and wife, Janet, Bayard, Tim Wilson and wife, Joyce, Philippi; three sisters, Nellie Ruth Auvil, Parsons, Sylvia Boyles and Caroline Poling, both of Philippi; one brother, Noble Auvil, Parsons; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Walter (Nellie) Auvil, Parsons, and Mrs. John (Edna) Auvil, Elkins, eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandhildren. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, William Mouser; by four sisters, Laura Poling, Elnora Poling, Pearl Wratchford and Lyda Dumire and by five brothers, Walter Auvil, Junior Roy Auvil, Wayne Auvil, Robert Lee Auvil and John Auvil. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and former housekeeper. She was a gifted seamstress and dressmaker, a gifted musician, an avid flower and vegetable gardener and a member of the Brushy Fork Community Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 3, 2010, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 South Main Street, Philippi. Mrs. Jessie Lou Shaw and Pastor Bryan Headley will officiate and interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. , the funeral hour on Monday. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
