Gregory Bucket Eugene Hammonds 1962-2011 Obituary
Gregory “Bucket” Eugene Hammonds, 48, of Mill Creek,WV entered into eternal rest early Monday morning January 3, 2011 at Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV surrounded by family. He was born on Tuesday September 25, 1962 in Elkins, WV, a son of Eugene B. and Iona F. McCauley Hammonds. He attended the schools of Randolph County. He was a 1980 graduate of Tygarts Valley High School who enjoyed playing football very much. Greg was employed in the construction business. He loved to play cards and pool. While living in Ohio he entered several pool tournaments. He was Methodist by faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Greg enjoyed camping with his boys very much. Greg was preceded in death by one sister: Barbara Ann Taylor in October of 2006. Left to cherish his memories are two sons: Travis Gregory Hammonds of Mill Creek, WV and Brett Allen Hammonds of Windham, OH; step-son: Dustin Coakley of Windham, OH; parents: Eugene B. and Iona F. McCauley Hammonds of Mill Creek, WV; one sister: Sheryl Lanham and husband David of Mill Creek, WV; two brothers: Randall Craig Hammonds of Mill Creek, WV and Douglas Alan Hammonds of Ravenna, OH; girlfriend: Erica Wills of Beverly, WV and special children: Stephen Kacenski of Windham, OH and Payden Haney and Christi Armstrong both of Beverly, WV; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday January 7, 2011 at The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday January 2011 at the funeral home chapel with Stevie Currence officiating. Flag presentation conducted by H. W. Daniels Post #29 American Legion located in Elkins, WV.
