Gregory Douglas Cross, 18, a resident of 805 N. Randolph Ave., Elkins, and a student at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 27, 2002, at Braxton Memorial Hospital in Gassaway, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born July 3, 1984, at Baltimore, Md., a son of Bernard Douglas Cross and Stephanie Denise Sandridge, both of Elkins.
Also surviving are one brother, Jeffrey D. Cross of Elkins; and one sister, Andrea D. Cross, also of Elkins; his paternal grandparents, Bernard and Louise Cross of Belington, his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Barbara Sandridge of Kerens, his maternal great-grandmother, Reta England of Belington. Several aunts and uncles including, Sandra Sandridge, North Beach, Md., Susan Currence, Mabie, Diane Everson and Susan Evans, both of Belington, Nancy Holbert, Philippi, Stephen Cross, Belington, Randy Cross, Longwood, Fla., Brenda Ryan, Bunker Hill, Judy White, Winchester, Va., and Trudy Reid of Wenham, Mass., also survive.
He was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 2002. He was a student at West Virginia Wesleyan College, majoring in theatre arts and was a member of the Old Brick Playhouse.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the funeral home chapel. Pastor Downing Gregory will officiate and interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Virginia Wesleyan College, 59 College Ave., Buckhannon, W.Va. 26201 in memory of Greg. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Gregory Douglas Cross.
