Harold Wade Cunningham 1936-2022 Obituary
Harold “Wade” Cunningham, age 85 years, a resident of the Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the center. He was born November 6, 1936 at Whitmer, WV, a son of the late John F. and Ida Phillips Cunningham. On July 2, 1961 in Elkins, he was married to Betty Jo Kyle who preceded him in death March 12, 2020. He is survived by two sons, Randall W. Cunningham and wife Brenda and Wayne A. Cunningham and wife Karen, all of Elkins and beloved granddaughter, Ashley Lynn Cunningham. One brother, John W. Cunningham of Whitmer; two sisters, Arlene Tingler of Gilman and Nancy Bennett of Moyers, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by six brothers, Sampson, Louis, Roy, Leonard, Dale and Lincoln Cunningham and three sisters, Louise Barkley, Mary Tingler and Louella Cunningham. Wade was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and had worked at Kelly Foundry prior to his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and trapping and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He attended the Elkins Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Cunningham’s request for cremation has been honored.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the Elkins Church of the Nazarene. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday from the church with Pastor Terry Burgess officiating. The American Flag will be presented by members of the United States Air Force. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elkins Church of the Nazarene, P. O. Box 50, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Mr. Cunningham. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Harold “Wade” Cunningham.
