Helen M. Bryant, 83, of Fourth Avenue, Mims, Fla., where she had been a winter resident since 1972, coming from Buckhannon, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, in Florida Hospital South in Orlando, Fla.
Mrs. Bryant was born Nov. 23, 1918, in Parkersburg.
She was married for 64 years to James W. Bryant, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jay Bryant, Buckhannon; one daughter, Karen Oddo, Melbourne, Fla.; one brother, Robert Whitlock Jr., Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Laura Jayne Currence, Todd William Tenney and Daniel Brent Powell, all of Buckhannon; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bryant worked as a secretary for the dean of the college at Wesleyan College in Buckhannon. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Buckhannon and Business & Professional Women in Buckhannon.
She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Presbyterian Church, an honorary life membership in the Presbyterian Women of the Presbyterian Church, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Buckhannon and an associated member of Mims United Methodist Church in Mims, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Buckhannon at 2 p.m. Sunday.
