Hobert H. Kerns, 84, of Medina, Ohio, and formerly of Dry Fork, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, in Medina Community Hospital.
Mr. Kerns was born Feb. 3, 1918, in Osceola, a son of the late Omer and Beulah Teter Kerns.
He married Eunice Kisamore Kerns, who survives. They were married for 51 years.
Also surviving are two daughters, Janet Presock, Medina, Ohio, and Terry Kerns, Stafford, Va.; three sons, Gary L. Kerns, Orlando, Fla., Bruce A. Kerns, Lodi, Ohio, and Timothy G. Kerns, Medina, Ohio; two sisters, Leona Ramsier, Wooster, Ohio, and Donna Teter, Elkins; and seven grandchildren, Saundra Plute, Julie, Keith, Corey, Kyle, Amy and Elycia.
He was preceded in death by a son, Harold Keith in 1967.
Mr. Kerns was a sheet metal worker for Henry Furnace and York International. He was a member of the AFL-cIO. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Funeral services were held in Medina, Ohio, at Waite and Son Funeral Homes on Feb. 6 with Kenneth Teter and David Zammert officiating. Interment followed in York Township Cemetery.
