Ila Geraldine Gerri Daniels Weese 1915-2010 Obituary
Ila Geraldine “Gerri” Daniels Weese, 95, known to her family and friends as “Granny Grunt” began her eternal life in Heaven on Saturday September 4, 2010 at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins, WV.
Her death was sudden and unexpected.
She was born Saturday July 31, 1915 in Beverly, WV to the late Dee Daniels and Ada Stalnaker.
She was previously married to Stewart Weese on Tuesday March 20, 1934 in Oakland, MD.
Throughout her life she was employed by various local restaurants before relocating to Tampa, FL.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading and bird watching.
She was gifted with a green thumb and loved gardening and plants.
Granny Grunt was an avid outdoors person who enjoyed fishing and bear hunting with the her sons.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, American Legion and Fraternal Order of the Eagles, as well as the Randolph County Senior Center.
She was Baptist by faith and a member of the Mt.Carmel Baptist Church on Scott’s Lake Road in Beverly, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons: Clifford Stewart and Norman Dee Weese; one grandson: Troy Lavern Weese and two brothers: Truman and Guy Daniels and infant sister: Ola Madeline Daniels.
She was very active even into her later years.
Granny Grunt was loved by all who met her.
Left to cherish her memories are seven children: Herman Gail and wife Dottie, Rebecca Hall, Dennis Guy Weese and wife Patty, and Zetha Kaye Kerns all of Elkins, Willard Joe Weese and wife Christy of Junior, Barbara Eloise Dierickx of Wapello, IA and Carroll Lee Weese of Tampa, FL and two brothers: Sterling Daniels of Biloxi, MS and Willard Daniels of Beverly. She was blessed with 24 grandchildren: Kathy, Greg and Chris Weese of Beverly, Randy Weese of Elkins, Jeff Weese of Mill Creek, Kim Krzywicki and Kelly Todd of Manassas, VA, Tammy and David Ehlers and Karen Wiederkehr all of Davenport, IA, Joe Monroe and James Dee Weese of Beverly, Stewart and Michelle Weese of Tampa, FL, Jackie Hall and Alicia Lambert of Beverly, Brian Hall of Elkins, Jamie Cox of Silver Spring, MD, Brianna Jack of Beverly, Garrett Weese of Elkins, Deborah Ware , Steven, Ila and Cody Kerns of Elkins; 38 Great-grandchildren and one Great-great Grandchild.
