Ira Cab Mayle 1926-2012 Obituary
Obituary: IRA CAB MAYLE Ira Cab Mayle, 86, a resident of Philippi, died Monday, July 2, 2012, in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, following an extended illness. He was born May 12, 1926, at Philippi, a son of the late James ‘Jimbo” and Etta (Norris) Mayle. On January 31, 1953, he married the former Yvonne Virginia Dalton, who survives at Philippi. Also surviving are two daughters, Ada Mae Kennedy, Moatsville, Amy Beth Kittle, Belington; four sons, Ira David “Sam” Mayle, Alfred Eugene Mayle, John Dewayne Mayle, all of Philippi and Stanley Leon Mayle, Grafton; two brothers, James Mayle, Philippi, Junior Mayle, Canton, Oh.; two sisters, Carrie Tabler, Minerva, Oh., Flo Ann Mayle, Canton; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by an two sisters, Sarah Tabler and Stella Mae Dalton and by four brothers, Leander Mayle, Gus Mayle, Philip Mayle and Alfred Mayle. Mr. Mayle was a retired employee of the Philippi Garage of the W.Va. Division of Highways and the Barbour County Senior Citizens Center. He was a lifelong farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an avid hunter and card player and he loved farming. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 6, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Ronald D. Mayle will officiate and interment will follow in the Mayle Family Cemetery, where military rites will be conferred. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday and from 9:00 A.M., until 2:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Friday. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
