James Burton Oldaker 1927-2002 Obituary
James Burton Oldaker, 75, of Route 4, Buckhannon, Kesling Mill Road, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Oldaker was born Feb. 24, 1927, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Coleman and Freda Day Oldaker.
On May 17, 1945, he married Ruth Mahala Bennett Oldaker, who preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 1996.
Surviving are three sons, Danny Oldaker, Scott Oldaker and James “Jimmy” Oldaker, all of Buckhannon; five daughters, Susan Benson, Sandra Ball and Mary Perkins, all of Buckhannon, Peggy Thorne of Philippi, and Marsha Allman of Jane Lew; three sisters, Helen Wagner and Augustine Green, both of Buckhannon, and Dorothy Hill of Georgia; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Roger Allen Oldaker; one grandson, two twin great-granddaughters and one sister.
Mr. Oldaker was a truck driver.
Friends will be received at Tomblyn-whitescarver Funeral Chapel Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. S.L. Green officiating. Interment will follow in Buckhannon Memorial Park.
