James Edgar Reese, 67, a lifelong resident of French Creek passed from this life Friday evening, December 16, 2011 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown. He was born Saturday, July 29, 1944 at French Creek, a son of the late Ralph Walter Reese and Goldie Mae Reid Reese. James is survived by two sons, Jason Reese of Ohio and Lakota Reese of West Virginia, one daughter, Tammy Reese Jewell of Virginia, one brother, Richard Reese and wife, Debbie of New York, one sister, Cathy Reese Moore of Ohio, one brother-in-law, Don Wilfong of Ohio, two grandchildren, Christopher and Madisen Jewell of Virginia, two very dear friends, Ron and Mazie England of French Creek, and several nieces and nephews including a special niece, KathyJo Tenney. Preceding him in death were three sisters, Cecelia Reese Davis, Jane Reese Wilfong, and Susan Reese Tenney, and one brother, John Walter Reese. James was a graduate of Buckhannon-upshur High School, had served with the United States Marine Corps, and had worked as a self-employed small business owner having operated businesses such as a pawn shop and a gun shop. Along with trading guns, knives, and other various merchandise, he had enjoyed hunting and fishing. James’ request for cremation was honored.
