James Robert “Bob” Lewis, 69, a resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg after a courageous ten year battle with Leukemia. Bob was born Monday, April 16, 1945 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Worthy James Lewis and Edith Bodkin Lewis who survives in Buckhannon. On January 8, 1971 in Elkins he married the former Carolyn “Sue” Tenney who survives in Mill Creek. Also left to cherish Bob’s memory is one brother, Terry Lewis and wife Evelyn of Elkins, three sisters, Judy Marco and husband Jerry of Coalton, Rita Tallman and husband Joe of Buckhannon and Janet Lewis of Elkins and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Bob in death besides his father was one brother, Eugene Ronald Lewis and one sister, Sandra Tenney. Bob attended the schools of Randolph County. He had been employed for twenty years at Howes Leather Co. in Pocahontas County and for twelve years as a truck driver for WV Paving. Bob had always been a hard worker and was always fixing things for others. He enjoyed cookouts and four wheeling. Bob never met a stranger and always knew how to make people laugh, even during his cancer treatments. Bob was a Methodist by faith. A visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 11A until 1P, the funeral hour. Pastor William “Wink” Lanham will officiate and interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman.
