James W. Blosser Jr 1943-2022 Obituary
James W. “Jim” Blosser, Jr., age 78 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 in the West Virginia Caring Hospice Center in Elkins. He was born December 23, 1943 at Kerens, WV a son of the late James Willard Blosser and the late Kathleen Vance Blosser. On February 12, 1999 in Elkins he was married to Sharon Lee Armentrout Blosser who survives in Elkins.
Also surviving is one son, Kevin M. Blosser and wife Anna of Coalton; one step-son, Jeff Kiess and wife Sharon of Elkins, one step-daughter, Marsha Payton and husband Chris of Morgantown; a brother Richard Carl Blosser of Elkins; one grandson, Kevin C. Blosser, five step grandsons, Heath and Trenton Harper, Trevor and Chrisstopher Kiess and Blake Payton.
Jim attended the schools of Randolph County. He was employed for many years at the A&P Stores in Elkins and Parsons. He was a truck driver for D&W Trucking of Parsons, WV and Owens Illinois of Fairmont, WV and Huntington, WV and was the manager of the Mt. Top Market at Thomas and Flowers Bakery of Elkins prior to his retirement. He later drove a van for the Randolph County Senior Center. He was a former member of the Parsons Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the BPOE Lodge No. 1135 of Elkins. Jim enjoyed golfing with his son Kevin and his many friends. Jim also enjoyed the outdoors and many vacations with his wife Sharon.
Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. BPOE Lodge No 1125 will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 pm Tuesday from the funeral home chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for James W. “Jim” Blosser, Jr.
