Janet B. (Currence) Stephens, 74, of Palmetto, Florida, passed away Jan. 14, 2021, in Venice, Florida.
Janet was born on July 23, 1946, in Elkins, to Junior and Elsie (Ware) Currence. She graduated from Elkins High School in 1964.
She is preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Thurman (Ruth Ellen and Dorothy) Stephens; her brother, Jerry Currence; and grandson, Robert Bedard. Prior to moving to Florida in retirement, Janet raised her family in Columbus, Ohio.
Surviving family includes husband of 52 years, Thurman (Tom); daughters, Joy (Gary) Bedard of Columbus, Ohio, and Jackye (John) Beckman of Westerville, Ohio: grandsons, Sebastian Beckman of Columbus, Ohio, and Matthew Beckman of Westerville, Ohio; sisters, Sandra (Wayne) Hornick of Elkins, Marla (Dana) Pennington of Elkins; brother, Michael (Pam) Currence of Elkins; nieces, Dixie Hornick, Marissa (Jonathan) Hicks, Emily Pennington and Nicole (Beau) Newlon; nephews, Matt (Tanya) Currence, Brian Currence, Cody (Samantha) Currence; as well as many more extended family and friends.
Family and friends may visit from noon until time of funeral at 1 p.m. at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Rod,. Westerville, Ohio 43081 on Monday. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 3840 Sunbury Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43219. Pastor Brian Smith will officiate.
