Janet Gayle Bailey Riggleman, 65, of Route 1, Beverly, died at 1 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, in Colonial Place in Elkins. She had been in declining health for the past year and considered critical for the past three weeks. Death was attributed to cancer.
Mrs. Riggleman was born July 26, 1936, in New Hope, a daughter of the late Cowgille Bailey and Mary Bailey Bailey.
On Aug. 11, 1961, in Oakland, Md., she married Hayse William Riggleman, who preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 2001.
Surviving are a brother, Carroll D. Bailey and wife, Joy, Raceland, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Riggleman was a graduate of Princeton High School and a 1959 graduate of Concord College. She was a school teacher, having taught home economics at Beverly High School and was the librarian at Elkins Junior High School retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Randolph County Retired Teacher’s Association, the West Virginia Retired Teacher’s Association, the Beverly Woman’s Club and the Beverly United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women of the Church.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Lohr-barb-vance Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Saturday, Mrs. Riggleman will be moved to Beverly United Methodist Church, where funeral services will be at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Donald L. Fitzwater officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Cemetery in Beverly. The family suggests that contributions be made to Beverly United Methodist Church, PO Box 130, Beverly, W.Va. 26253.
