Janet McDaniels Been, age 81 years, a resident of Chenoweth Creek, Elkins, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at her home. She was born June 18, 1939 at Selbyville, WV a daughter of the late Forest and Edith Woody McDaniels. On September 2, 1961 at Spelter, WV, she was married to Ted E. Been who preceded her in death August 24, 2018. She is survived by three children, Timothy E. Been of Clarksburg, WV, Sheila L. Roscoe and husband Robert of Harpers Ferry, WV and Rebecca A. Bailey and husband Rex of Clarksburg, WV. One brother, Glen McDaniels of Buckhannon; two sisters, Helen Heater of Front Royal, VA and Rosalie Strader of Buckhannon and four grandchildren, Holly Martin of Clarksburg, Thomas “Mike” Snider of Bridgeport, Maggie Stephens of Mount Clare, WV and Madison Been of Shinnston. Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Patrick and Andrew Martin and Camden and Levi Snider; two brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Janet was retired from Anchor Hocking Glass and was a member of the Crystal Springs Community Church.
Friends may call from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm Friday, August 14, 2020 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. She will then be moved to the Elkins Memorial Gardens where a graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm. Pastor Dave Collins will officiate and interment will follow. As we continue to follow the mandate of Gov. Jim Justice and the guidelines established by the Center for Disease Control, masks and social distancing will be required for anyone attending the services for Mrs. Been. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Janet McDaniels Been.
