Jean Starr 1929-2022 Obituary
Jean Starr, 92, of Aurora, WV, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 5, 2022. Born on January 8, 1929, in Akron, OH, the daughter of the late Harold Aldine and Gladys Marie (Smith) Harsh.
Jean was a homemaker who took pride in caring for her family. She was a faithful member of Stemple Ridge United Methodist Church, the Ladies Aid, Relay for Life, and a Volunteer at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Her job for many years was working at a bowling establishment and she taught bowling.
She is survived by one son, Terry Lee Starr, Rockhill, NC; daughters, Shirley Faith Thomas, Largo, Fl; , Virginia Diane Casto and husband Alan, Dresden, OH, Debra Lynn Krites and husband Bob, Fort Wayne, IN; Grandchildren, Jennifer Hartley and husband Cory, De Eshelman and husband Chad, Larry Harvey and wife Jessica, Candi Hurley and husband Sean, Billy Krites, Todd Starr and wife Rhonda, Jessica Starr, Sara Whittaker and husband Damon, Adam Starr, 15 Great Grandchildren; 18 Great-Great Grandchildren; a brother, Lyle Harsh and Wife Mary Ann, Rootstown, OH; a sister, Eldean Poling, Aurora, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 2002, Francis H. Starr. Also preceding her in death are Son in law Danny Thomas, Daughter in law Missy Starr; Grandsons, William Jamison and Jay Jamison; brothers, Dale Harsh and Richard Harsh; a sister, Linda Liston.
Friends will be received at Stemple Ridge United Methodist Church, Sunday, January 9, 2022, from 3 to 5 pm and 10 to 11 am on Monday January 10, 2022. A funeral service will be held, 11:00 am, January 10, 2022 at the church with Pastor Sabrina Tenney officiating. Interment will follow in the Stemple Ridge Cemetery. A meal will immediately follow at the Aurora Memorial Building. The Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family at this time.
