Jennings Harold Kitzmiller, 84, a resident of the Chenoweth Creek Road, passed away at 2 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at his residence.
He was born April 11, 1917, in Bemis, a son of the late Claude H. and Nelle A. Williams Kitzmiller.
On Oct. 11, 1937, at Tom’s Brook, Va., he was married to Alene Whiteman Kitzmiller, who survives at Chenoweth Creek.
Also surviving are two sons, Jay Kitzmiller, Paradise, Calif., and Robert Kitzmiller of Buckhannon; two daughters, Joyce Auman of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Jeanie Morrison of Elkins; one brother, Eugene Kitzmiller of Elkins; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death was one brother, Max Kitzmiller.
Mr. Kitzmiller was the owner and operator of Kitzmiller Lumber Co. prior to his retirement. He was a 50-year member of Elkins Lodge No. 108 AF & AM and a member of First Church of Christ in Elkins, having served as deacon and treasurer of the church.
Friends may call from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the funeral home chapel with Evangelist Gary L. Kendall Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
