Jerry Edgar Whitacre, 39, a resident of Beverly, passed from this life Thursday, May 17, 2012. He had been in his usual health and death was sudden and unexpected. Born on October 7, 1972 at Youngstown, OH, Jerry was the son of the late James William “Jim” Whitacre and Christine Lynn Harris Vanpelt who survives at Beverly. Left to cherish Jerry’s memory along with his mother is one son, Kevin Gray, three sisters, Caroline Cain of Elkins, Sherry Teter and husband, Jeff, of Whitmer, and Jennifer Whitacre of Elkins, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Preceding Jerry in death were his maternal grandparents, William and Catherine Harris and paternal grandparents, David and Caroline Whitacre. Jerry attended the schools of Youngstown, OH and Randolph County. He loved music, fishing, and socializing. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home and Cremations Services on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 3 until 6PM. Jerry’s request for cremation will then be honored.
