Joan Marie Collett Yokum 1941-2020 Obituary
Joan Marie Collett Yokum, age 78 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 in the Davis Medical Center.
She was born October 25, 1941 in Elkins, a daughter of the late Earl and Opal Groves Collett.
She was married to Austin Noel Yokum who preceded her in death on December 25, 2017.
Surviving is one son, Timothy Allen Yokum and wife Michelle of Elkins; two step sons, Daniel Yokum, and David Armstrong; several grandchildren including Jeffrey Yokum and wife Amber and Chase and Kallie Lothes.
Four great grandchildren, Brentley Yokum, Braelynn Washington, Khaleeci and Camri Lothes; a sister Velma Lewis; sisters-in-law, Olita and Paul Brudette, Judith and Boyd Loflin, Mary Louise Yokum, Mary Lou Corn and Eulah Yokum; special niece, Terri Thornhill and husband Dan and special friend, Anna Harper also survive.
Also preceding her in death was an infant son and brother, Bernard Collett. Joan attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed for many years at the Kmart Store in Elkins prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the Tygart Valley Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, August 30, 2020 at the Tygart Valley Baptist Church at Beverly. Pastor Jack Howell will officiate and interment of the cremains will take place at a later date at the Greenwood Cemetery at East Dailey.
As we continue to follow the mandate of Gov. Jim Justice and the guidelines established by the Center for Disease Control, masks and social distancing will be required for anyone attending the services for Mrs. Yokum.
