OBITUARY: JOHN ANDREW BONER John Andrew Boner, 73, of Moatsville, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2010 in Frederick, Md at the home of his sister, Beulah Wachter, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 21, 1937, in Barbour County, and was the son of late Robertus F. and Nora (Moore) Boner. “Johnnie”, as he was known by his family and friends, was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired from Century Limestone Company and was a lifelong farmer. Johnnie had a deep love for his cows and calves, often calling them his “babies.” He spent his days walking his farm or on his tractor in the hay fields. He will be remembered for his gentleness and strength. He was a dignified man who was loved by many. Johnnie often attended services at Moatsville Free Gospel Church and Souls Harbor Tabernacle. He is survived by three sisters, Eva Price and Shirley Sandy of Moatsville and Beulah Wachter of Frederick, Md. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Mary Jane Boner, Evelyn Sherill Boner, Geraldine Bolner and Beatrice “Tootsie” Ritter. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, at Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 South Main Street, Philippi. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 29 at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Jim Johnson will officiate. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery where Barbour County Post #44, will confer military graveside rites. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
