JOHN DALE WILLIAMS, age 71 years, a resident of Ellamore, WV departed this life early Sunday morning, June 6, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born Tuesday, March 28, 1939 at Grafton, WV a son of the late Offie Dale Williams and Mary Dell Haller Williams. On July 17, 1965 at Ohio, he was married to the former Virginia Mae Wires, who preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons, Robert Dale “Robbie” Williams and wife Tammy, and Dale Lee Williams, all of Ellamore; two stepsons, Donald E. Larch and wife Debbie, Charleston; Michael H. Larch and wife Pam, OH; one daughter, Tammy Kay Miller and husband Mark, Montrose; six brothers, Herbert N. Williams and wife Jeanette, Wheeling; Thomas F. Williams and wife Mary Jane and Merle J. Williams, all of Buckhannon; Denzil Ray Williams and wife Cathy, Anniston, AL; Charles A. Williams and wife Barbara, Philippi; and William L. Williams and wife Teresa, Walkersville; two sisters, Edith M. Stanton and husband James and Dessie M. Hedrick, all of Wheeling; one half sister, Lillian Baker, OH; one brother in law, Donald Wires, Charleston; four grandchildren, Joshua, Nicholas and Chandler Miller, all of Elkins; Cassie Ann Williams, Ellamore; six step grandchildren, Phyllis, Gina, Heather, Melody, Chris and Shane; several great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He attended the schools of Taylor County, was a dairy farmer and was a truck driver for many years, having last worked for ALCON. He was an avid outdoorsman.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 11 AM to 1 PM, Wednesday, June 9, 2010, the funeral hour, with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Mr. Williams request for cremation will then be honored. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Ellamore Volunteer Fire Department, Ellamore, WV 26267 or to the Randolph County Cancer Support Group, P. O. Box 2361, Elkins, WV 26241. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for JOHN DALE WILLIAMS.
