John F. Taylor, 59, a resident of Mabie, passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 7, 2002, at his home. Death was unexpected.
He was born Nov. 13, 1942, at Mabie, a son of the late Charles Taylor and Leah Wiseman Taylor, with whom he made his home.
He had never married.
He is survived by two brothers, Glenn Taylor of Elkins, and Delmer Taylor of Mabie; three sisters, Evelyn Wilson and Carolyn Sturdivant, both of Elkins, and Connie Skidmore of Mabie; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lonnie Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a graduate of Coalton High School with the class of 1961 and received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Maryland on Dec. 21, 1975. He was employed by Safeway Super Market in Washington, D.C., prior to his retirement and after returning to Randolph County was employed by Mountain State Realty in Elkins.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Frank Long officiating. Interment will follow in the Rowan Memorial Cemetery at Mabie.
