John Harper Rennix, 66, of Mocksville, NC entered into eternal rest early Monday October 25, 2010 in Hickory, NC. He was born Sunday February 27, 1944 in Bristol, CT, a son of the late Marcus and Lelah Kerens Rennix. He was a 1962 graduate of Tygarts Valley High School in Mill Creek,WV and a 1966 graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in mechanical engineering. John was retired from Steelman’s Ace Hardware in Hillsdale, NC. He had also worked 17 years for Wal-mart in the electronics department. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and tinkering wtih tractors. He loved spending time with his three grandchildren. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Patricia Leazer Rennix of Mocksville, NC; one daughter: Melissa Painchaud and husband Rich of Hickory, NC; one son: Jeffrey Todd Rennix and wife Shauna of Mocksville, NC; two granddaughters: Emily and Rebecca Painchaud of Hickory, NC; one grandson: Hayden Rennix of Mocksville, NC; one sister: Roseann Rosier and husband Mike of Valley Bend, WV; four brothers: Mark Rennix of Mill Creek, WV; Leon Rennix and wife Mary Ann of Valley Bend, WV; Charles Rennix of Hobson, MT and Tom Rennix of Dailey, WV; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00a.m. Friday October 29, 2010 at Eatons Baptist Church located at 430 Eatons Church Road in Mocksville, NC with Dr. David Gilbreath officiating.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday October 28, 2010 at Eaton Funeral Home; 325 N. Main Street; Mocksville, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be considered for Roena B. Kulynch Center for Memory and Cognition Research at Wake Forest Medical Center; Medical Center Blvd.; Winston-salem, NC 27157.
