John Joseph Graham, 75, a resident of Philippi, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020, surrounded by his family, at his residence.
John was born Oct. 2, 1945, in Elkins, a son of the late Ison Lee an Ella Marie (Conte) Graham.
Surviving are children, John Joseph Graham II and wife Mary of Beverly, Dennis Lee Graham and wife Tara (Mitchell) of Arden, Jeremy John Ward of Elkins, Melissa Harris of Texas, Deanna Marie Graham of Maryland, Tara Dawn Graham of Philippi, Ra’chelle Elaine Graham and husband Glenn Brown of South Carolina, and Trisha La’nea Shreve and husband Jeff of Philippi; stepdaughter, Jeanette Thomas of St. Augustine, Florida; his love for over 30 years, Marilyn Joyce Graham; brothers, Ison Paul Graham of Elkins, Jeff Graham of Elkins and Steven Wayne Graham of Weston; sister, Ruby Elaine Roberts of Milton; 20 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two expected great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his previous wife, Terri Lynn Snider, sisters, Eva Lea “Toots” Graham Whitmire, Donna Jean Graham Willcut and Mary Jo Graham Mayo.
John was owner of Graham Drilling and co-owner and president of Midwest Energy. He was an entrepreneur and owned several side businesses, as water well driller, auctioneer, volunteer EMT/fireman in Junior, as an Ice Cream truck owner/driver, Bargain Barn in Philippi and Tanks Alot.
In honor of John’s request, cremation will be honored. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory, 220 N. Walnut St. in Philippi on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 4 – 5 p.m A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. with Pastor Johnny Paul Williams officiating.
