John L. Morrison, 81, of Adrian, died Monday, March 25, 2002, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Mr. Morrison was born Sept. 8, 1920, in Harrison County, a son of Irene Powell Morrison Marshall, who survives in Jane Lew, and the late Howard Morrison.
He married Josephine Gillis Morrison, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Linda Dean, Duck, N.C., Sandra Coffman, French Creek, and Patricia Rodriguez, Hatteras Island, N.C.; two brothers, William Marshall, Weston, and Robert Marshall, Bridgeport; one sister, Norma Swiger, Summerfield, Fla.; four grandsons, Erich Dean, Zebulon, N.C., Jeffrey Coffman, Morgantown, and John M. Coffman and Mitchell Light, both of French Creek; and one great-granddaughter, Cori Coffman, Morgantown.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Morrison Jr.
Mr. Morrison was a kitchen supervisor for Veterans Administration. He served in the Army during World War II and survived the Pearl Harbor attack. He was a member of French Creek Chapter 36 DAV, Buckhannon VFW Post 3663 and Frank B. Bartlett Post 7, American Legion. He was past president and member of Tennerton Lions Club.
Friends will be received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Buckhannon VFW Post 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post 7, American Legion and French Creek Chapter 36 DAV will conduct military honors at the graveside.
