John Lesley White 1952-2003 Obituary
John Lesley White, 51, a resident of Davis Avenue in Elkins, departed this life Monday, June 23, 2003, at his Davis Avenue residence. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
He was born May 1, 1952, at Clarksburg, a son of the late John White Jr. and Martha L. McIntyre, who survives at Belington.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Robert “Mike” White and wife, Beverly, of Belington; four sisters, Connie J. Seech and husband, Jeff, of Belington, Linda J. Baumgardner and husband, Ralph, of Belington, Carol J. Smith of Elkins, Sharon R. Everhart and husband, Don, of Montrose; two stepsisters, Jeanie Finley of Hawaii, and Jackie McIntyre of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Jack McIntyre; two brothers, Dave L. White and Homer L. White; one stepbrother, Billie McIntyre; and two infant sisters.
Mr. White attended the schools of New Jersey, served in the U.S. Marine Corps and had attended the Faith Way Baptist Church. He was presently employed by Bruce Hardwoods in Beverly.
Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Faith Way Baptist Church near Belington with the Rev. Downing Gregory officiating. At the request of the deceased his remains will be cremated. Interment of his cremains will be at a later date at Flanagan Cemetery near Dryfork. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the VFW Post 410 in Belington. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. John Lesley White.
