JOHNNIE KEITH PENNINGTON, age 66 years, a native of Harman, WV, a former resident of Severna Park, MD and more recently a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life early Wednesday morning, December 23, 2009 at the Select Specialty Hospital at Saint Francis Hospital at Charleston, WV.
He was born Saturday, December 26, 1942 at Harman, WV a son of the late Frank J. Pennington and Mattie M. Chew Pennington. He had never married. Surviving are one sister, Dolores Jane Cain and husband Robert Sr, Elkins; two nephews, Robert Cain, Jr., Elkins; William Pennington, Martinsburg; one niece Michelle Cain, Elkins and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death are one brother, Howard M. Pennington.
He was a graduate of Severna Park High School, with the Class of 1962, had worked for the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles for ten years, was a paper carrier for twenty years, delivered real estate books and later was a telemarketer until his illness. He was a member of the Life Tabernacle at Pasadena, MD and took care of several friends, helping with groceries and travel. He will be missed by his family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 7 PM, Tuesday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 12 Noon. The Reverend Eli Hostetler will officiate and interment will follow at the Pennington Cemetery at Dryfork, WV.
