Jonathan Edward Riffle Sr. 1958-2021 Obituary
Jonathan Edward Riffle Sr., 63, a resident of Coalton, passed from this life Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Davis Medical Center in Elkins.
Jonathan was born Wednesday, January 8, 1958, in Elkins, a son of the late Donald Edward Riffle and Iris Joan Mace Riffle.
Left to cherish his memory is son, Nick Riffle and wife Erica, one granddaughter, Gwen Riffle, two brothers, David Brian Riffle and wife Nadine, Donald Riffle, all of Coalton, one sister, Roxanna Bartelli and husband Jeff of Norton, daughter in law, Shannon Riffle, and fiancé, Tammy Fortney.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was his wife, Peggy Jean Petrice Riffle, one son, Jonathan Edward Riffle, Jr., two brothers, Randall and Terry Riffle, and one granddaughter, Katelyn Riffle.
Jonathan obtained his GED and was a carpenter who owned Riffle Construction. He had also been employed as a coal miner for several local mines and more recently retired from Greenfield Cabinetry in Elkins. Jonathan enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR. He loved tending to and working on his property. He loved his horses having raised several over the years.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 11 AM in Phillips Chapel Cemetery at which time the casket will be open. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 AM. Rev. Carl Weasenforth will officiate and interment will follow.
