Joseph Antonio Luizzi, 82, formerly of Providence, R.I., and since 1968 of Horse Shoe Run, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, in Oakland, Md.
Mr. Luizzi was born June 14, 1919, in Providence, R.I., a son of the late Domenico and Carmela Zito Luizzi.
He married Ruth Slaubaugh Luizzi, who preceded him in death in 1995.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Luizzi was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired auto body repairman. He was a member of Aurora VFD, VFW Post 578 of Terra Alta, American Legion Post 56 and FOE 936 and the First Presbyterian Church of Thomas.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis Thursday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Moon officiating. Interment will follow in West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton.
