Josephine Talma Stiles 1916-2002 Obituary
Josephine Talma Stiles, 85, of Ruthbell community, Albright, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at her home. She was cared for by Eleanor “Sis” Kraft, Amy Kraft and Sandra and Audra Friend.
Mrs. Stiles was born March 1, 1916, in Hackers Valley, a daughter of the late Alva and Florence Ramey Bender.
She married Amos Stiles, who preceded her in death in February 1989.
Surviving are four daughters, Eleanor “Sis” Kraft, Sharon Foster and husband, Richard Jr., all of Morgantown, Sandra Friend and husband, Audra, Terra Alta, and Evelyn Thompson and husband, Johnnie, Dixon, Ky.; six sons, James Stiles and wife, Donna, Windham, Ohio, Julius “Dewey” Stiles and wife, Sharon, Morgantown, Richard Stiles and wife, Nancy, Whetsell Settlement, Daniel Stiles and wife, Luann, Dixon, Ky., Jackie Stiles, Albright, Edward Hinkle and wife, Chris, Germantown, Md.; two sisters, Jessica Covdua, Linsay, Calif., and Virginia Patterson, Volga; a brother, Leonard Bender, Buckhannon; 29 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Robert “Robbie” Kraft; four sisters and a brother.
Mrs. Stiles attended Albright United Methodist Church and attended the women’s group of the church. She was a member of the Preston County Senior Center.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood today from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, with the Rev. Vicki Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in Bruceton Cemetery. Donations may be made to Hospice Care Corp., PO Box 760, Arthurdale, W.Va. 26520-0760.
