Joyce Aldine Simmons 1932-2021 Obituary
Joyce Aldine (Smith) Simmons, 88, of Horse Shoe Run, WV, passed away October 25, 2021, at Cortland Acres in Thomas, WV. She was born November 25, 1932, in Parsons, WV, a daughter to the late David and Iva Smith.
Joyce was a graduate of Parsons High School. She was homemaker and enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, and completing crossword puzzles. Joyce attended The Brookside Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by one son Allan (Deborah) Simmons; seven daughters, Catherine (Art) Arden, Norma (David) Fitts, Rosalie Hedrick, Gloria (Jerry) Gilpin, Sheila (Carl) Elliot, Tammy (Dave) Kailey and Debra Simmons; 17 grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; one brother, Dean Smith; and one sister, Jean Barry.
In 2015, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Alonzo Simmons, whom she married on June 3, 1951; She was also preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.
Services will be private. Interment will follow in the Pifer-Dumire Cemetery. The Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Simmons family at this time.
