Joyce Ann Flynn Canfield, age 72 years, a resident of Montrose, WV, departed this life Monday September 20, 2010 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center in Elkins. She had been in declining health for the past year.
She was born Saturday, July 16, 1938 at Parsons, WV a daughter of the late William “Willie” Flynn and Eloween Yvonne Rosenau Flynn. On May 26, 1956 at Montrose, WV she was married to Truman Canfield who survives. They had celebrated fifty-four years of marriage. Also surviving are one son, David Lynn Canfield and wife Janet, Bowden; one brother, Tom Flynn and wife Thelma, Montrose; one sister, Phyllis Argenbright, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Kathy Ann Wills and husband Marty, Parsons; one grandson, Jeremy David Canfield, Jimtown; five great grandchildren, Cory, Jordan, Tiffany, Tori and Zoey and several nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1956. She and her husband owned and operated Canfield Lumber Company for over fifty years and the Canfield Service Station at Montrose for many years. She loved and collected crafts and was a devoted Christian.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Thursday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Friday, September 24, 2010 at 11:30 AM. The Rev. A. H. Belt will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.
