Juanita Loraine Delauder (Cross) 1928-2021 Obituary
Mrs. Juanita Loraine Cross Delauder, age 93, a resident of the Meadowville community departed this life Monday evening October 25, 2021 in the comforts of her home. Death was following a period of declining health.
She was born on August 2, 1928 in Barbour County, WV, the daughter of the late Coleman S. and Anna Vidonna Carr Cross. On September 2, 1950 at Oakland, Maryland she was united in marriage to Dorsey H. Delauder, who preceded her in death on August 9, 1992.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and a whole host of friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings; Juva Louise Simmons, Willadean Boyles, Lillie “Tootsie” Coontz, Anna Lee Johnson, Leta Harris, Wanda Shahan, infant siblings; Beatrice Cross, Loretta Gay Cross, Rosa Lee Cross, Homer Cross, Pritchard Cross, Harold Cross, and Coleman Cross Jr. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Juanita attended the schools of Barbour County and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Central Chapel United Methodist Church near Belington and was active in the Ladies Fellowship group of the church. She loved to paint, wood working, and hunting. She really enjoyed reading her bible and spending time with her family. She was a very caring person and was always willing to help someone in need, she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 North Brandenburg Street Belington on Saturday October 30, 2021 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Elsie Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Central Chapel Cemetery near Belington. Due to Covid -19 restrictions face covering are required while paying your respects in the funeral home.
