Julia Ann Wamsley Lewis, age 54 years, a resident of Kings Run, Elkins, passed away Thursday evening, December 27, 2012 at her home surrounded by family following a brief illness. She was born June 28, 1958 in Elkins the oldest daughter of the late Richard and Marie O’Dell Wamsley. On August 19, 1977 in Elkins, she married her grade school sweetheart, Sonny Lee Lewis who survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Keri Helen Lewis and a son, Richard Dylan Lewis both of Elkins, two grandchildren, Hunter and Hayden Taylor, two sisters, Robin Pritt and husband Mike and Dee Gee Wamsley, her mother-in-law, Delores J. Weese Lewis Lewis Liggett and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Also preceding her in death besides her parents were her paternal grandparents, Everett and Helen Wamsley, maternal grandparents, Richard and Lena Grace Miller O’Dell and her father-in-law, Sonny Lewis, Sr. Julie was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1976. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Sonny’s Carpet in Elkins. Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, December 30th from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Leon Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice in memory of Julie.
