K.F. Frank Pittman, 80, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg.
Frank was born on Thursday, June 20, 1940, at Elkins, the son of the late A. D. “Snap” Pittman and Virginia Mae Stump Pittman. In Oakland, MD, he married Sueann Carr Pittman who survives. They had celebrated fifty-nine years of marriage. Frank and Sueann were well known for their love of Bassett hounds and rescuing many and giving them a loving home.
Left to cherish Frank’s memory besides his wife is a son, John and friend, Crystal Scott, two daughters, Vikki Mowery and husband, Ralph, of Harman and Tira of Parsons, a sister, Betty Blanks of NC, a niece, Renee Pittman of California, three nephews, Jim Blanks and wife, Sarah of Haymarket, VA, JD Blanks and wife, Ashley of Culpepper, VA. and Loren Pittman of California, two very special nieces, Becky Booth, and husband, Steve, of Hendricks, Kathy Jo Hoffner and husband, Frank of Richmond, VA, a godson, Bleu Tasker of Mt. Storm, very special friends, D.L. and Donna Tasker and Noah “Mucker” Rhodes, to whom he taught his truck driving skills.
Preceding Frank in death besides his parents was a brother, Kenneth Pittman.
Frank graduated Parsons High School with the Class of 1958 and served in the US Air Force. He started in trucking in 1967 at D&W Truck Lines. He also drove for American Standard for eleven years and was Safety Director at D&W Truck Lines at the time of his death. Frank was known as “The Legend of Truckers”.
Frank’s request for cremation was honored.
