KAREN JEAN PHILLIPS POLING 1946-2010 Obituary
KAREN JEAN PHILLIPS POLING, age 63 years, a resident of Parsons, WV, departed this life Friday afternoon, June 18, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown. She had been in declining health.
She was born Friday, November 15, 1946 at Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Wanda June Phillips. On January 4, 1963 at Parsons, she was married to Robert Dale Poling, Sr., who preceded her in death August 11, 2009.
Surviving are three sons, Robert Dale Poling, Jr., David Allen Poling and Mark Allen Poling, all of Parsons; one daughter, Roberta Jean Alderman and husband Chris of Parsons; one brother, Charles Kenneth “Bob” Phillips and wife Paula of Hendricks; one sister, Sandra Lee Harris and husband Archie of Parsons; four grandchildren, Michael Andrew, Quintissa, Trevor, Emma and Trenton Allen and special cousins, Gloria Fox and Sherry Coplen.
Preceding her in death are one sister, Linda Mae Phillips and one granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Poling.
She attended the schools of Tucker County. She was a former employee of Roses Dept. Store in Georgia and she was a former employee of Wal-mart in Elkins as a sales associate and a homemaker. She was a member of the Hamrick C.E.O. She loved to crochet and she loved her animals.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 2 PM. The Rev. Jeff Anderson will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons.
