Karen Sue Nethken , 64, of Georgetown Road, Beverly, WV entered into eternal rest Sunday March 7, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV surrounded by family. She was born Friday November 30, 1945 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Samuel and Reva Mae Robinson Beckner. On Friday September 2, 1966 in Ellamore, WV at the Gertrude Chapel she married Ralph David Nethken who survives in Beverly, WV. She attended the schools of Upshur County. Karen earned a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Fairmont State College. She was employed as a social worker with Applachian Mental Health. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located on the Beverly Pike in Beverly, WV. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing and crocheting. Karen was a lovely lady who enjoyed helping others. She truly loved her friends and family. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Dorotha Beckner and Betty Riffle and four brothers: one infant brother, Leonard, William and Richard Beckner. Karen will be sadly missed by her husband: Ralph Nethken of Beverly; two daughters: Lisa Carol Simmons and husband Jeff and Carla Sue Loutfi all of Elkins, WV; two sons: Charles “David” Nethken and wife Laura of Elkins, WV and Michael Chad Nethken and wife Krystal of Mooresville, NC; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six sisters: Hazel Whitley and Sherry Posey both of Painesville, OH, Connie Canter of Volga, WV, Nancy Durant and Linda Mealey both of Buckhannon, WV and Rita Buss of Martinsburg, WV; three brothers: James, Danny and David Beckner all of Buckhannon, WV; one half-sister: Karen Sue Blackhurst of Phoenix, AZ; one half-brother: James Canter of Hodgesville, WV; her church family and many friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday March 13th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located on the Beverly Pike in Beverly, WV with Elder Les Edinger officiating.
