On April 25, 2002, the Lord called Keith Bennett to be with him. Mr. Bennett was 71 years of age and a resident of Norton.
He was born Jan. 21, 1931, at Oceola, a son of the late John and Nellie Davis Bennett. He was married to Letha Martin Bennett who survives at Norton.
Also surviving are three step-daughters, Tammy Leggett, Hodgesville, and Susan Shiflett and Jeanie Weese, both of Elkins; three brothers, Ray Bennett, Dailey, Denver Bennett, Fredericksburg, Va., and Ralph Bennett, Elkins; three sisters, Rosalee Gibson, Elkins, Josie Wamsley, Martinsburg, and Nellie Mae McCallister, Bayard; seven step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death was one brother, Richard.
Mr. Bennett was employed as the manager of the Sunoco Station at Crystal Springs for many years and was a member of the Bayard Church of God.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor William McCallister and Elder Ralph Bennett officiating.
