Kohlon J. Degler 1910-2003 Obituary
Kohlon J. “Kay” Degler, 92, went to be with the Lord at 6:21 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, in Nella’s Nursing Home near Elkins following a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born Jan. 31, 1910, in Valdosta, Ga., the daughter of the late John Vinson and Jimmie Fletcher Davis.
She was married to Carl Degler, who preceded her in death.
Surviving is one daughter, Barbara L. Carroll and husband, Donald L. Carroll, Elkins; one sister, Gene Degler, Chiefland, Fla.; three grandchildren, James D. Carroll and wife, Dawn, New London, Conn., Cynthia L. Conway and husband, David, Salem, and Daniel V. Carroll and wife, Chris, Cape Coral, Fla.
Seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson also survive.
Also preceding her in death was one grandson, George M. Carroll.
Mrs. Degler was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith.
At the request of the deceased, her remains will be cremated.
Graveside services and interment of cremains will be held at a later date in the Maplewood Cemetery.
