Kyle C. Conner, 72, of Chestnut Flats Road, Route 1, Belington, died Wednesday evening, May 15, 2002, at his home. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
He was born April 30, 1930, at Newlonton, Upshur County, a son of the late Bruce W. and Alma Shock Conner.
On June 3, 1954, he married the former Ruth M. Gottschalk, who survives at Chestnut Flats Road.
Also surviving are one son, Will F. Conner, Kearsarge, N.H.; four daughters, Rosmarie Conner, Sanbornton, N.H., Barbara Hancock and Evelyn Joy, both of Ooltewah, Tenn., and Marjorie Robertson, Chattanooga, Tenn.; two brothers, Dale Conner, Buckhannon, and Howard Conner, Belington; two sisters, Jessie Elmer, Silver Springs, Md., and Mildred Carpenter, Belington; and seven grandchildren, Robert Lowery, Melody Lowrey, Scott Robertson, Heather Robertson, Shane Inman, Cory Thomas and Brooke Thomas. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Conner and an infantbrother.
Mr. Conner was a former teacher, a former farm foreman, a former maintenance supervisor and retired from Conner’s Appliance Sales and Service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with American Occupation Forces in Germany. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Buckhannon.
Friends may call at Schoonover-stemple Funeral Chapel in Belington from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday, when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rick Cutright officiating. Interment will follow in Talbott Cemetery.
