Lanette Young Arbogast 1959-2021 Obituary
Lanette Young Arbogast, age 61 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Thursday evening, October 21, 2021 at her home with her loving daughter at her side and under the care of Mountain Hospice.
She was born Tuesday, November 10, 1959 at Elkins, WV a daughter of the late Hayward Joseph and Pauline Martha Nay Young. Surviving are one daughter, Lanette Maudie Oates of Rawlings, MD; her companion Shellace Hedrick, Jr. of Elkins; one stepson, Joseph Hedrick and wife Nativity of Beverly; two sisters, Linda Young of Elkins, Loretta Sirback of OH; two grandchildren, Brice Mongold of Petersburg, Katelynn Rice of Rawlings, MD; one step grandson, Daxton Wilfong of Beverly; and nieces, Cherral McLean of Elkins, Stepheny Fanning of Fredericksburg, VA, and Amanda Holderman of Chillicothe, OH.
Preceding her in death are husbands, Joseph “Jodie” “Eight Ball” Gum, George Ellis Arbogast; two brothers, Charles Young and an infant; and two sisters, Patty Ann Young and an infant; and one grandson, Shane Tyler Rice.
She attended the schools of Randolph County and received her GED. She had previously worked for Mountaineer Mart, Super America, and Nella’s Nursing Home and later for Smoker Friendly on the Beverly Five Lane. She enjoyed playing games on the computer, card games, and having fun. She was a Methodist by faith. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 to 6 PM Monday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 11 AM. The Rev. Terry Cannon will officiate and interment will follow at the Valley Bend Cemetery near Belington, WV.
