Laurel Marne Springer 1938-2017 Obituary
Laurel Marne Springer, 79, of Fairmont, passed on to be with our Lord on Saturday (Dec. 30, 2017).
She was born in Marion County on Oct. 4, 1938, the daughter of the late Robert E. Springer and Juanita E. (Andrick) Springer.
There were no siblings, but she had loving grandparents, Elliot and Gertrude Springer, along with Virgil and Ethel Andrick, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins who were there for her throughout her childhood. Laurel grew up in Colfax and graduated in 1956 from Fairmont East High School. Upon graduation, she went on to apply her business skills in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she lived from the time she was 18 years old until she was approximately 67 years of age. During those years, she enjoyed extensive travel throughout the United States as well as travel abroad. Due to illness, she returned to Fairmont where she was admitted to Genesis Health Care and lived out her remaining years.
A special thank you to the nurses, staff and doctors who cared for her.
Surviving is one uncle, Harold Springer, of Fairmont, and several cousins.
She will be fondly remembered by all. There will be no services, due to private arrangements. Following cremation, her remains will be laid to rest beside her mother and father in Mount Zion Cemetery. Officiating at interment, Pastor Wesley Grissom will give the final prayer over Laurel as she is laid to rest.
Rest in peace, Laurel.
Carla and Ted Newell, the Springer Family.
