Lena S. Taul, 88, a resident of Route 1, Elkins, the Chenoweth Creek community, where she made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Sam Nelson, passed away at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2002, at her home.
She was born Aug. 24, 1913, in Nicholas County, Ky., a daughter of the late Bruce and Rebecca Morris Hamm.
On Dec. 28, 1929, in Winchester, Ky., she was married to Arthur J. Taul, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1990.
She is survived by one son, Billy Ray Taul, Newport News, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Sam (Pat) Nelson of Elkins; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, nine sisters and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Taul was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Evangelist Denver Cooper will officiate and interment will follow in Elkins Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International, PO Box 95, Montrose, W.Va. 26283.
