Lendal Mae Scott Armstrong, age 89 years, a resident of Mill Creek, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020.
She was born January 7, 1931 at High Germany, WV, a daughter of the late Hayes and Leva Lanham Scott.
She was twice married, first to Donald “Pete” Boserman who preceded her in death June 1949 and Charles “Bob” Armstrong who preceded her in death November 24, 1990.
She is survived by one son, Keith Armstrong and wife Gail of Mill Creek, three daughters, Donna Boserman Cool and husband Bill of Goose Creek, SC, Bobbie McCauley and husband Troy of Mill Creek and Marsha Lanham and husband Preston of Mill Creek. One sister, Shirley Defibaugh of Mill Creek. Seven grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, soon to be five with the arrival of two great-great granddaughters due in January 2021. Also preceding her in death was one sister, Stacey Gum and granddaughter, Chasta Lanham. Lendal was a graduate of Tygart Valley High School with the Class of 1949. She had worked at the Mill Creek Drive-in from 1968 until the 1980’s. She later worked for many years at the Elkins Walmart in the Lawn and Garden Department until her retirement in July 2017. She was a member of Randolph Chapter No. 74, Order of the Eastern Star and was a Methodist by faith. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. Her Sunday dinners were enjoyed by family friends as her chocolate cake, pot roast, and elderberry jelly were legendary.
Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, October 22nd, from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rich Cardot officiating. Interment will follow at the Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville. Masks and social distancing will be required for anyone attending the services for Mrs. Armstrong.
