Lillian Gertrude Wilfong 1907-2002 Obituary
Lillian Gertrude “Trudy” Wilfong, 94, of Cleveland Ave., Buckhannon, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at 11:45 p.m. in Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon.
Mrs. Wilfong was born Dec. 15, 1907, at Pickens, a daughter of Arthur Wally and Rhoda House Hardway.
On Feb. 14, 1923, she married Lee Burner Wilfong, who preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1950.
Surviving are one daughter, Shirley Lewis, Buckhannon; three grandsons, David Wilfong and Kevin Wilfong, both of Chicago, Ill., and William Wilfong, Buckhannon; and one granddaughter, Deborah Verace, Arlington, Texas.
She was preceded in death by one son, Wallace Lee Wilfong.
She was a past member of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Business of Professional Women and a member of Buckhannon VFW 3663 Women’s Auxiliary. She attended First Baptist Church of Buckhannon.
A private family service will be conducted. Interment will be in Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
