LILLIAN NAOMI SIS CRITES PHILLIPS 1922-2010 Obituary
LILLIAN NAOMI “SIS” CRITES PHILLIPS, age 88 years, a resident of Junior, WV departed this life Thursday evening, August 5, 2010 at the home of her daughter Betty Smith.
She was born Monday, June 26, 1922 at Ellamore, WV, a daughter of the late Oscar Franklin Crites and Donice Williams Crites.
On December 24, 1940, she was married to Loyal Lee Phillips, who preceded her in death November 29, 2002.
Surviving are one son, James Neil Phillips of Bellefontaine, OH; and two daughters, Betty Lee Phillips Smith of Junior, WV, and Wilda Ruth Phillips Tuesing Stieringer of Elkins, WV; seventeen grandchildren, thirty eight great-grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by three brothers, Fay, Ray and James Crites.
She attended the one room school at Ellamore. She was a homemaker and worked for the Davis Memorial Hospital for forty six years, as floor aid and an aid in the nursery.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Monday from 5 to 8 PM.
Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 12:30 PM.
The Rev. Stella Fay Moyer will officiate and entombment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Gilman, WV.
