Lodonald Matthew “Buck” Currence, 80, a resident of East Dailey, passed from this life Monday, October 4, 2021, at home.
Buck was born Friday, February 21, 1941, in Mill Creek, a son of the late Peter Currence and Addie May Arbogast Currence. On May 12, 1962, in Mill Creek, he married the former Arra Estaline Herron who preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are four children, Jake Brian Currence and wife Kim of East Dailey, Michael Matthew Currence and wife Paula of Mill Creek, Buckey Lee Currence of East Dailey, and Kenny Ray Collins and wife Tina of Elkins, grandchildren, Heather Marie, Jacob Brian Jr., Amanda Lane, Benjamin Matthew, Brandon Lee, Erika Lynn, Cassy, D.J., Shane, great-grandchildren, Mikalea, Jasmine, Dakota, Aubrey, Eli, Bentley, Bailey, Ezra, Cadence, Chloe Jane, Jamie, Audrey, Kaleb, Ryder, Tegan, Casey, David, and Colby Lynn, four siblings, Henry Currence and wife Barbara of Beverly, Truman Currence and wife Dorothy of Elkins, Judy Pritt and husband Kenny of Beverly, and one sister, Oneta Neighbors of Beckley.
Preceding him in death besides his parents and wife were five siblings, Ruth, Orvie, Retha, Luella, Louise, and one daughter in law, Tammy Currence.
Buck attended the schools of Randolph County. He was a water well driller and was the owner of his own company, Currence Water Well Drilling. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. Buck’s favorite thing to do was to babysit his grandchildren. He will definitely be missed by all who knew him.
