Lonnie Lee Tackett, 65, of Mill Creek, WV entered into eternal rest Friday August 6, 2010 at home surrounded by family. He was born Saturday September 30, 1944 in Mill Creek, WV, a son of the late Charley James and Hazel Mae Currence Tackett. Lonnie attended the schools of Randolph County. He was a lifelong resident of Randolph County who loved camping, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed going to yard sales and collecting antiques. He was a people person and never met a stranger. He was employed by Concast in Dailey, WV as a brass pourer. He attended the Blue Rock Methodist Church at Blue Rock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son: Jeremiah “Jay” Phillips; two sisters: Helen Mary “Jim” Herron and Lina Taylor and two brothers: infant brother Charles Tackett and Frank Tackett. Left to cherish Lonnie’s memories are his special companion of 32 years: Juanita “Tena” Bailor of Mill Creek, WV; two daughters: Charlene Tackett and Barbara Roberts and husband Jeffrey ; one son: David Tackett and one granddaughter: Mallory Shae Roberts all of Mill Creek, WV; five sisters: Ruth Howard of Fairmont, WV, Kathleen Pingley of Baltimore, MD, Tina Croston and Irene Phillips both of Valley Bend, WV and Bonnie Rhodes of Mill Creek, WV; three step-daughters: Nicole Wood of Mercersburg, PA, Belinda Wiseman of Mill Creek, WV and Lisa White of Dailey, WV; three step-granddaughters; four step-grandsons; special friends: Cleo and Sunny Hamrick of Monterville, WV and his special dog: Annie. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday August 10, 2010 at The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday August 10, 201 at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ralph Summerfield and the Rev. Rick Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at the Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville,WV.
